Hi,
A new chapter in this "New Normal" (the title I may some day give to a book) began yesterday when Denny finally came home from the hospital. It will be a chapter dedicated almost entirely to rehabilitation, so our days will be structured. He will be going to outpatient physical therapy as well, but we won't know until tomorrow where that will be slotted into the daily/weekly routine. We'll be busy!
Thanks again for your prayers and concern for Den and our family. I speak for all of us when I say that without you I can't imagine what Denny's health status would be. As for me, I'd probably be in a padded room somewhere. Our faith and hope is bolstered daily by your friendship and prayers. We are and will be eternally grateful.
Hugs to all,
Carla

Hey Mr. O!
It's been so long since we've talked but I hope everything is going well for you. I know this is a difficult time for you but I hope that what I have to say will help a little bit. Obviously you know that I had to go through a few years of physical therapy and rehab. I must say that those were the toughest years of my life, but also the best. I know that you're an amazing person with a lot of dedication and good will. Physical therapy isn't anything easy, but you'll get a lot more out of it than just a successful recovery. You'll become a stronger person and have more faith in yourself to know that you can overcome any obstacle that comes your way. Never put your head down, Mr. O. Even when I was tired and winded during track season, I believe that your exact words stated "That has got to feel good". No matter how tired I was, the feeling at the end really did feel good. I learned to push through that winded feeling because I loved the sport. I know that you can push through this "winded feeling" because you live a wonderful life and you have been blessed with many wonderful people. With you as my teacher and coach, I was very blessed to have such a wonderful person be such a great influence on my life. I have full faith in you that you'll work your hardest during your physical therapy sessions. Hard work does pay off and I know that you'll be stronger both physically and mentally in the end. Fight through the pain and misery because I promise you that everything you'll get out of this will be very rewarding.
Thank you so much for everything you've done for me and I'll always keep you in my prayers.
